1. Duomo di Milano

2. Hallgrimskirkja, Icelandic

Hallgrimskirkja is a Lutheran parish church in Reykjavik, Iceland. The church is located at the top Skolavordustigur shopping street in Reykjavik. With a height of 74.5 m (244 ft), Hallgrimskirkja is the tallest building in Iceland. Statue in front of the church is Leif Eriksson, son of Erik the Red.


3. Borgund Stave, West Norway

Borgund was built sometime between 1180 and 1250 CE in Western Norway with additions to the building and restoration repeated. The walls are formed of vertical wooden planks, or stick (staves), therefore the church is called "Stave Church".


4. Las Lajas Sanctuary, Colombia

Las Lajas Sanctuary is a religious monument built in the XVIIIth century. This church has become an iconic Catholic because according to legend this place is the place where the Virgin Mary appeared to. The shrine is located at the base of two mountains in the south of Colombia, in the city of Ipiales.

La Sagrada Familia is one of the most famous works of Gaudi in Barcelona. It is a giant basilica has been built since 1882. The building is still under construction so be prepared to see a lot of work continues when you visit. But this in itself is interesting, especially if you visit the museum in the building.

7. Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood, St.Petersburg, Russia

Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood, St. Petersburg, Russia built on the spot where Emperor Alexander II was killed in March 1881. The church was built between 1883 and 1907 and officially called the Church of the Resurrection of Christ (Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood). The church building is almost entirely funded by the Imperial family and thousands of private donors.

9. The Church of Assumption, Lake Bled, Slovenia

Unless you are a good swimmer (and do not mind the cold water), you should hire a local Pletna boat to cross over to the Church of the Assumption (The Church of the Assumption), which stands on an island in the middle of a fairy tale Lake Bled in the west Slovenian sea.


10. Thorncrown Chapel

Deep in the Ozark Mountains, near the community of Eureka Springs (one of the coolest small town in America by Budget Travel poll 2011), stands a church called Thorncrown Chapel. This church is located very far, even the best GPS device was not able to track the coordinates of this place.
